When it comes to spring, there are signs that it is well and truly on the way. The blooming of daffodils, the incessant Cadbury's Creme Eggs adverts (we're partial to a Malteaster Bunny, if you must know) and the dropping of new smile-inducing nail polishes. Yes, the annual spring/summer makeup collections are hitting stores, and while we may not feel ready to strip back to a tinted moisturiser or buff in a holiday tan–inspired bronzer, we are very much ready and willing to paint our nails in the name of spring.
This season there are, of course, the usual pretty peach hues and bright yellows and greens, but thanks to Pantone's colours of the year, Rose Quartz (a pale rosy pink) and Serenity (a cool tranquil blue), we're seeing those shades pop up in little glass bottles too. Thanks to the catwalk shows, there are silvers and greiges galore. And then there is Chanel, always marching to the beat of its own drum, with an inky blue polish—one coat gives you a sheer wash of colour; two or more coats and you get a deep, dark, inky finish.
